During each month of the school year that there is not a long holiday, students and parents will go on field trips to a variety of locations. Strongbridge often participates in the Center Arts performing season at the Van Duzer Theater at Humboldt State University seeing 45 minute abridged performances of artists such as the Peking Acrobats, Cirque de Soliel, and Imago Dance theater. Strongbridge encourages parents to make suggestions for field trip locations, keeping in mind the appropriateness for the preschool age group. Past trips have included: Arcata Fire Department, The Natural History Museum, Wildberries Market, the Community Farm, the Humboldt Botanical Gardens, the Coast Guard Air Station, the Airport, and the Discovery Museum. Parents transport their children to and from these trips, and it's a good opportunity to meet and socialize with other families in the school community. If a parent cannot participate, they are asked to let staff know as soon as possible and arrangements will be made for another family to host their child. Field trips are most often scheduled in the morning, but afternoon students are encouraged to attend. The day of the field trip will be the school day for morning students and they will go home directly afterwards. Full day students will go back to school after the event.
